Mirepa’s enterprise support and investment readiness interventions are carried out by Mirepa Capital Ltd.

Mirepa Capital Ltd (MCL) is registered in Ghana as a limited liability company to engage in development consulting, enterprise support and investment readiness services. Since 2016, the company has designed, developed and executed enterprise development programs for key partners specifically around early-stage business development, enterprise growth and scaling, as well as gender inclusion in the business landscape. MCL has also been a leader in providing support for climate impact initiatives in Ghana.

Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA)

Clean Cooking Accelerator

In partnership with CCA, MCL and Innohub Growth Centre designed the clean cooking accelerator for West African SMEs that manufacture or distribute clean cooking products and those within the adjacent energy access sectors who intend to incorporate clean cooking solutions into their product portfolio to apply. The accelerator will bridge knowledge, management, and technical gaps that hinder enterprises from participating in carbon markets and accessing carbon finance. The program will also enhance the visibility of these enterprises, fostering connections with carbon project developers, intermediaries, and carbon buyers.

Reach for Change

Rapid Scale

Mirepa co-created a program with Reach for Change (Ethiopia) to help social enterprises focused on delivering interventions for women and children, to evolve their business models towards becoming commercially sustainable.  The main outputs were businesses that could concurrently scale their commercial and impact models. to enable them to scale their impact. Mirepa provided training and coaching that was geared towards equipping participating enterprises to rapidly scale their operations in a financially sustainable manner.

Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED Ghana)

Mastercard Foundation Young Africa Works Cooperative Project for selected Women-Led Entities in Ghana

Mirepa supported CAMFED to strengthen the operational capacities as well as supply chains of women-led/own businesses engaged in a number of agricultural value chains. The work involved helping the entrepreneurs to prepare their business models for growth/scale and to better organize the women producer groups in their supply chains into formalized cooperatives.

Orange Corners Innovation Fund (OCIF)

Mirepa is supporting Fidelity Bank to strengthen the start-up infrastructure and support young Ghanaians in scaling up their innovative and green business and creating decent and sustainable employment to contribute to sustained green and inclusive economic growth, higher levels of productivity and technological innovation and the improvement of gender equality in Ghana.

Fidelity Bank Ghana

Fidelity Young Entrepreneurs Fund (FYEF)

The Fidelity Young Entrepreneurs Fund (FYEF) supports existing businesses and startups of young entrepreneurs with financial and non-financial resources to harness social impact potential, build capacity, and guide youth-related businesses to grow and scale up their businesses. Mirepa Capital Limited is supporting these businesses post-investment with portfolio management and some value addition

SNV Ghana

GrEEn-Boosting Green Employment and Enterprise Opportunities in Ghana

The goal of the program was to address the root causes of irregular migration by supporting sustainable and climate smart businesses through the creation of green jobs, and promoting green enterprise development in regions of departure, transit and return. The program targeted women, youth and various MSMEs within the green sector. The team provided assistance with the development of a curriculum for the acceleration and incubation programs, developed the coaching and mentoring manuals for the accelerators and incubators enrolled in the program, trained accelerator and incubator managers to deliver the enterprise support interventions and provided guidance on investment options for the program.

SNV Ghana

Renewable Energy Development and Acceleration Project (REDAP)

Mirepa supported SNV Ghana through the Renewable Energy Development and Acceleration Project to improve capacity of RE businesses in Ghana to improve their chances of securing a loan facility provided by RDF. The support involved Mirepa performing a needs assessment and providing capacity building and technical assistance to bridge the gap between the present state of the businesses and the requirement from RDF and provided training, coaching and mentoring for entrepreneurs to help them to develop business models.

Grundfos

Pilot - Ghana Water Initiative Launch of Community Water Systems

The Grundfos SafeWater strategic business unit has set a target to reach ten million (10M) people by 2025 with improved access to water. As part of this mission, Grundfos has proactively undertaken to understand how to support the provision of access to water services to Ghana’s underserved communities on a commercially viable basis with the ultimate goal to bring safe water to one million (1M) Ghanaians, create one thousand (1,000) jobs and reach fifty (50) communities with smart water solutions by 2025. Mirepa Capital has been providing support in the area of developing a financing mechanism to attract investors and entrepreneurs for the construction and management of water systems under the Ghana Water Initiative (GWI).

GIZ

FEMMSTECH

Mirepa supported the FEMMSTECH program which was aimed at providing underprivileged girls in the Northern Region skills to participate in sales, service and maintenance of bicycles and motorcycles. Mirepa helped develop training material and designed technical assistance interventions for facilitators, funders and beneficiaries of a female in technology program in Ghana.

Ghana Climate Innovation Center (GCIC)

Portfolio Management for incubated companies

Mirepa partnered with GCIC to assist climate technology businesses as well as other SMEs employing business practices that impact climate to develop new and better technologies. Mirepa assisted with training, coaching and mentoring for entrepreneurs to optimize their business models, provided guidance for SMEs to complete product development and supported them to secure grants for proof of concept.

The World Bank Group

Cross Border Diffusion of Technology and Business Models

Mirepa’s objective for joining this program was to help improve cross-border linkages in order to accelerate the business development of local companies in the climate, cleantech, renewable energy, and waste management sectors by replicating models that have worked elsewhere. Mirepa’s role was the co-creation of a cross-border business linkage process, facilitating introductions for matchmaking of local entities with international potential partners and performing due diligence to verify the credibility of both local and international matchmaking prospects.
